Peter Cheng, the Founding Managing Partner of Eminence Ventures, was invited to attend the second Taiwan Venture Capital Conference. The conference, hosted by theTaiwan Startup Investment Exchange Community, one of the most influential startup investment communities in Taiwan with over 300,000 members, mostly startup entrepreneurs and investors.

During the conference, Peter delivered two keynote speeches with the themes of "AI Cloud Investment Trends" and "20 Years of Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital: Growth Advice for Taiwanese Entrepreneurs". Peter introduced GenAI's current investment environment in mainland China. He noted that although investment in enterprise software in China has decelerated in the past two years, the GenAI field has witnessed explosive growth. Peter also emphasized that although GenAI-focused infrastructure startups' fundraising amounts accounted for 80% of the total market share in the past year, more application-layer opportunities will emerge in the next few years.

In light of the booming AI startup environment in the Taiwan market, Peter encouraged Taiwanese entrepreneurs to strive to become leaders in the vertical markets and proposed the following suggestions:

• Focus on vertical markets: First, land business in a niche market, then gradually expand the scale (Land &Expand).

• Pay attention to unit economy: Ensure a good unit economic model and pay close attention to the total customer lifetime value (LTV) ratio to customer acquisition cost (CAC).
  

• Build barriers and pricing power: Expand the scale in the final stage, establish market barriers, and gradually obtain pricing power.
